UC3M, or the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, is one of the best public universities in Spain. It is a young university with a great international environment and lots of courses offered both in English and Spanish. Many of the buildings and equipment are brand new. Being part of this university will make you feel like a true Madrileño. What does this mean? It means you will live the Spanish life of a university student and will meet a lot of people from Spain and many other cultures. You will travel, and you will enjoy the tapas and cañas during your stay. This university was founded in 1989 and it has become one of the 150 best universities in the whole world according to the QS Graduate Employability Ranking (2016), and is also considered by QS as one the 50 best universities founded in the last 50 years Even though three out of its four campuses (Getafe, Leganés and Colmenarejo) are not in central Madrid, it only takes 15 minutes by train or bus to get to Atocha and Puerta del Sol, in the heart of Madrid.
